چکیده

Abstract Background Rapid consumption of fossil fuels as well rising environmental deterioration caused by extreme CO 2 emissions has become crucial in searching for a clean and renewable energy source such biodiesel. The current work is an attempt to produce biodiesel from potential non-edible feedstock Aphanamixis polystachya , locally known ‘Royna’ seed oil Bangladesh. Methods Royna was extracted the Soxhlet extraction method. Biodiesel synthesized three-step process: saponification oil, followed acidification soap, esterification free fatty acid (FFA). Results result presented showed that royna found be rich with maximum yield 51% (w/w). Several reaction parameters were optimized during production their percentage proportion catalyst (1:2), soap HCl (1:1.5), FFA alcohol molar ratio (1:7), (1 wt%). As result, highest 97% obtained 7.5 wt% content at 70 °C 90-min time. ASTM verified standard methods employed analyze physicochemical properties as-prepared structural surface determined 1 H NMR FTIR spectroscopic indicating complete conversion Conclusions study investigated promising viability using route along heterogeneous catalysis system circumvent issues.

Deacidification of Pistacia chinensis Oil as a Promising Non-Edible Feedstock for Biodiesel Production in China

Pistacia chinensis seed oil is proposed as a promising non-edible feedstock for biodiesel production. Different extraction methods were tested and compared to obtain crude oil from the seed of Pistacia chinensis, along with various deacidification measures of refined oil. The biodiesel was produced through catalysis of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and potassium hydroxide (KOH). The results showed th...

Non-Edible Plant Oils as New Sources for Biodiesel Production

Due to the concern on the availability of recoverable fossil fuel reserves and the environmental problems caused by the use those fossil fuels, considerable attention has been given to biodiesel production as an alternative to petrodiesel. However, as the biodiesel is produced from vegetable oils and animal fats, there are concerns that biodiesel feedstock may compete with food supply in the lo...
